This Oak House – 1926

This photo captures the This Oak House store in 1920, when it was a home for John and Priscillia Maxwell, and their 3 daughters. It was built in 1877 and served as the parsonage for the Birr United Church.

This Oak House – 2026

Various owners later, the house was purchased in 2000 by the Moore family who renovated it and turned it into their retail business This Oak House. Over 100 years of change and renovations later, you can still see many similarities between the humble home in 1926 and the present day furniture store.

Fine Handcrafted Furniture in London Ontario

Solid Hardwood Amish Crafted Furniture

Bill and I wanted to let you know how THRILLED we are with the chairs. We didn’t expect the stain colour to match so perfectly so perhaps you can pass on our appreciation for a job well done. They are comfortable and look great with the table. I have to keep walking into the kitchen to look! We will certainly keep you in mind for any other items we may need as well as spreading the word for a job well done!
Bill and Joan
Take the short drive, look at what is on the floor, let them know what you are looking for. If you have to order something it’s well worth the wait to have it made.
Friendly helpful staff.
I can’t stand the furniture almost every other store carries that is made to look good until you get it home.
The items from the Oak House will last a lifetime – and then go on to other family members.
